Job Description

About the Role

PATH is a global nonprofit dedicated to achieving health equity. With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world's most pressing health challenges. The organization is seeking a skilled and dynamic Senior Program Associate to support a critical initiative aimed at helping low- and middle-income countries navigate the evolving health funding landscape, address gaps created by fluctuating donor funding, and integrate fragmented health data to drive evidence-based prioritization of health resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage data integration and analysis: Lead efforts to gather, integrate, and analyze health financing data from various sources to provide real-time insights into available resources, both domestic and donor assistance.
  • Create data visualization tools that promote usability: Develop and manage a dashboard to track health care resources - both available resources and gaps in financing - to support accurate, timely data for evidence-based health financing decisions.
  • Design and develop mathematical models: Support development of cost effectiveness, health impact, forecasting, optimization, and other relevant mathematical models to extend the team's insights; synthesize inputs from multiple quantitative and qualitative sources and engage with internal modeling experts as needed.
  • Support development of evidence-backed recommendations: Use analytical work to aid government partners in designing actionable recommendations to streamline funding, increase efficiency, and support best practices in healthcare programming.
  • Assist with investment case development: Collaborate with government partners to build strong, data-driven cases for domestic funding allocations and pursuit of additional donor assistance.
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge sharing: Lead the facilitation of a learning agenda that shares insights, case studies, and best practices with other implementing partners, countries, and stakeholders.
  • Present key findings: Prepare content for internal and external presentations to share findings and gather feedback on programs of work.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the private sector or NGO sector working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment (e.g., strategy consulting, investment banking, health financing).
  • Master's degree in business, economics, public health or related field strongly preferred.
  • Experience in conducting and synthesizing research across health and technical disciplines, with the ability to quickly understand new political or technical contexts.
  • Technical skills in quantitative and qualitative data manipulation and analysis, including building and maintaining analytical models, collecting, cleaning, analyzing, and visualizing diverse data sets.
  • Basic experience with modeling disciplines such as cost effectiveness, simulation, forecasting, and resource optimization; ability to evaluate and document assumptions.
  • Ability to distill strategic insights and communicate effectively through reports and presentations to diverse audiences including donors, government leaders, and health experts.
  • Experience working with Ministries of Health and partners in low- and middle-income countries; experience supporting senior MOH officials is a strong plus.
  • Proven effectiveness working in a globally-distributed, team-based environment, with capacity for independent work and initiative.
  • Experience with project management, managing to budget and deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally, less than 10% of the time.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working directly with senior Ministry of Health officials in LMICs.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in business, economics, public health or related field (strongly preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a results-oriented environment.
