About the Role

The Senior SAP Basis Administrator designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs complex software applications related to SAP environments. The role involves working with stakeholders to analyze application functionalities, develop technical specifications, build software enhancements, perform testing, ensure security compliance, and lead incident management activities. The position requires a strong technical background in SAP systems and related technologies, with opportunities to lead workstreams and mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Works with stakeholders to perform application functionality gap analyses and feasibility studies for application enhancements.
Develops and documents complex technical design specifications to meet business needs identified through application requirements, user stories, support tickets, and test defects.
Builds software enhancements through configuration and/or development to meet desired functionalities.
Performs unit testing on application enhancements prior to moving coding and configuration through the quality assurance process.
Develops, defines, and reviews test plans and scripts for functional, performance, regression, and user acceptance testing.
Analyzes applications for compliance with security protocols and recommends changes as needed.
Participates in and leads incident management activities, including troubleshooting and performing after action reviews and tasks.
Leads workstreams for smaller projects and provides training and guidance to junior engineers.

Requirements

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline with 5-8 years of experience, or MS/MA with 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
Experience and knowledge of SAP Data Services (EIM), MDG, Enterprise Portal, Fiori, SAP EWM, and Solution Manager.
Experience with SAP Archiving and SAP environments running on cloud platforms such as GCP or Azure.
Familiarity with third-party products like Mulesoft, Open Text, Splunk, and 3P Archiving Solutions.
Experience with SAP Automation Tools such as Basis Technologies, Active Control, Jenkins.
Experience with Libelle automation, SAP Techmon/Alerting, scripting, Winshuttle, DevOps automation, infrastructure as code, RPA, Python, Unix shell scripts.

Nice to Have

Certification in relevant SAP or cloud technologies.

Qualifications

BS/BA or MS/MA in a related discipline.
