About the Role

The role of Senior Social Strategist involves developing and executing social media strategies, engaging with online communities, and establishing thought leadership in digital and social media spaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor online conversations and participate via posts to build brand visibility and thought leadership.
  • Ideate and develop social-first content briefs in partnership with in-house content creators.
  • Assist the brand's and Digitas team in developing social strategies, playbooks, etc.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for inbound requests from the social client team.
  • Identify, analyze issues, patterns, and trends in the client landscape and with digital trends.
  • Create and ideate daily social media content and campaigns.
  • Establish benchmarks for metrics and develop reporting schedules with recommendations.
  • Analyze campaigns and translate qualitative data into actionable recommendations.
  • Identify and engage advocates and influencers.
  • Escalate and communicate issues, observations, opportunities, and insights to the client team.
  • Establish credibility as a thought leader on new social media tools and best practices.
  • Participate in professional networking events, including speaking engagements, to further establish Digitas' credibility in social media.

Requirements

  • A 4-year degree and 1 to 3 years of experience in digital and/or communications.
  • Experience living in the social media universe—familiarity with platforms like YouTube, Reddit, Tumblr, Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and blogs.
  • Excellent research and writing skills with the ability to create smart content quickly.
  • Passion for social media, culture, and trends.
  • Client-facing experience and/or experience interfacing with clients via email or calls.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy, particularly feed marketing.
  • Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Experience managing influencer programs effectively.
  • Ability to support creative ideas with sound analytical reasoning.
  • Willingness to travel and explore new places and ideas.
  • Familiarity with prompt-based interaction and generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DALL·E, Midjourney) is a plus.

Qualifications

  • A 4-year degree.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in digital and/or communications.
