Job Description

About the Role

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native). As a member of the SAMBT team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying automation and applications that will be used by multiple development, engineering and DevOps teams across Workday. The team builds and crafts innovative solutions to support all Workday development teams in their SDLC including binary artifact management, software distribution, source control systems, and build tools. The role emphasizes reliability, availability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within a culture of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy automation and applications used by multiple development, engineering, and DevOps teams.
  • Support and improve build, development, and deployment tools to ensure high reliability and availability.
  • Collaborate with global and remote teams to implement solutions that support the SDLC and automation initiatives.
  • Employ a culture of learning and continuous improvement in engineering practices.

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience working with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • 8+ years of experience in software development with proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Go, Python, Java, or similar.
  • 3+ years' experience using configuration management frameworks like Chef, Ansible, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes in Public/Private Cloud environments.
  • Excellent analytical skills for problem solving.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD, SDLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience in Linux operating systems and scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Golang.
  • Deep understanding of Public Cloud Networking.
  • Experience managing and supporting source code management (SCM) tools.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on automation.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for collaboration with diverse, global teams.

Nice to Have

  • Certifications relevant to the role (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator).
  • Certifications for tools like Bitbucket, GitHub.
