About the Role

As a Senior Software Engineer within Walmart Global Tech, you will develop technologies, products, or services that could revolutionize the way buyers and suppliers communicate and handle product inventory at stores. You will support and build applications and processes to enhance Walmart's commercial offerings and lead a team of junior engineers to deliver top-notch products. The team works closely with US stores and eCommerce to serve customers through technological innovation across various retail sectors, focusing on customers, stores, employees, merchant tools, data science, and personalization.

Key Responsibilities

Leads the discovery phase of medium to large projects by partnering with product management, project management, business, and user experience teams to develop high-level designs and obtain cross-function approvals.
Leads the work of small groups of four to six engineers, including offshore associates, providing direction, relevant documentation, and feedback; identifying solutions and timelines; reviewing and performing design and code reviews.
Engages in full stack development using multiple technologies such as ReactJS, Java, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master degree in Computer Science is preferred with exposure to supply chain.
6+ years of experience in the software engineering field.
Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance.
Supports and implements business solutions by building relationships with stakeholders, identifying needs, and monitoring progress.
Experience with full stack development using technologies like ReactJS, Java, Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases.

Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Option 2: 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years' experience in software engineering or related field.
