Senior Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
• Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
• Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
• Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
• Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
• Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
• Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff

Requirements

• 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
• 4+ years of experience working with technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
• 4+ years experience working in an Agile Methodology using Kanban, Scrum with Jira
• 4+ years experience in Software Development Lifecycle
• 4+ years of development languages/utilities such as COBOL/COBOLII, Easytrieve, REXX, SQL, IBM Sort, JCL, NDM Connect:Direct, DEBUG
• 4+ years of system environments including z/OS Level: 02.05.00, TSO/ISPF, CICS, IBM Developer for zOS (IDz), File Manager (VSAM/DB2), Mainview, CA7 Job Scheduler, DB2 BMC Tools, SAVRS
• 4+ years of experience working with Mainframe Datasets, Dataset Encryption, VSAM Files, DB2 Database
• 4+ years experience working with the Endevor source code management system
• 2+ years experience working with test script platform ACCELQ
• 1+ years of experience with Change Management system ServiceNow, Checkmarx Enterprise, and Threadfix
• 1+ year of experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, GitHub Actions
• 1+ year of experience with performance tuning, profiling Java applications, and knowledge of Java memory model
• 1+ year of experience with database platforms like MongoDB and Oracle DB

• Ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
• Ability to translate complex technical needs into straightforward requests for information and collaboration
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical background
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements
• Ability to interface with architects, infrastructure groups, and Line of Business project technical staff
