Senior, Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Build REST APIs using frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
• Design and develop enterprise solutions in Java/J2EE following a multi-tier architecture.
• Work with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Leverage Agile methodology and SDLC tools like JIRA, Jenkins, GIT, JUnit, Selenium to improve development, CI/CD, and testing efficiency.
• Implement best practices and design patterns such as promises, application flow control, event/error/AJAX handling, RxJS, observables, and Redux.
• Take ownership of the development and design of various modules/features in a product.
• Use hands-on development skills to prototype technical solutions.
• Quickly adapt to change and show a willingness to learn new and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate effectively with global resources and teams through strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Gain experience with cloud stacks such as Azure Cloud Stack or GCP.
• Apply knowledge of open-source libraries and micro-service architecture.
• Work with relational databases like MySQL and Postgres.
• Possibly work with messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Follow right design principles to improve applications.
• Possess knowledge of GraphQL APIs as an added advantage.
• Break down product goals into development deliverables.
• Lead technical relationships with partners and mentor a team of developers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of practical experience as a backend developer.
• Proficiency with REST APIs and frameworks like Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficient in leveraging Agile methodology and SDLC tools (JIRA, Jenkins, GIT, JUnit, Selenium, Lint).
• Experience with cloud stacks such as Azure Cloud Stack or GCP.
• Hands-on knowledge with relational databases like MySQL and Postgres.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and 3 years' experience, or 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related area and 1 year's experience.
• Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility.
• Knowledge of open-source libraries and micro-service architecture.
• Experience with messaging platforms like Kafka.
• Knowledge of GraphQL APIs.

Qualifications

• Option 1: Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus 3 years' experience.
• Option 2: 5 years' experience in software engineering or related area.
• Preferred: Master's degree in relevant field plus 1 year's experience.
