About the Role

Coinbase is seeking experienced backend engineers to join our team to build out the next generation of crypto-forward products and features. Our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world by building the emerging onchain platform and the future global financial system. The role involves solving large-scale, complex technical problems, bridging web-scale applications and blockchain technology, and helping make cryptocurrency accessible worldwide. The work culture is intense and collaborative, with a focus on building the future alongside high-caliber colleagues. While many roles are remote-first, in-person participation is required throughout the year, including team and company-wide offsites.

Key Responsibilities

Build and run experiments to power the growth of Coinbase's retail products.
Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
Work with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter.
Write high quality, well tested code to meet the needs of your customers.

Requirements

At least 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services, and knowledge of service-oriented architecture.
Ability to write high quality, well tested code to meet customer needs.
Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.

Nice to Have

Experience launching new products from 0 to 1.
Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
Experience with Blockchain technology (such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.).
Familiarity with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
Experience building fintech, highly reliable, and/or secure systems.
Crypto-forward experience, including interacting with Ethereum addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or blockchain-based services.
