About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer at 7-Eleven, Inc. is responsible for developing and delivering web component user interfaces, building microservices, performing DevOps duties, mentoring teams, and collaborating across business units to ensure scalable, reliable, and customer-centric product development. The role involves working in a hybrid environment, combining remote work with on-site responsibilities, and contributing to the company's web product vision and security standards.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver web component user interfaces based on approved mockups and wireframes to enable key business capabilities.
Perform front-end programming using JavaScript, React JS, Redux, Node JS, HTML, and CSS.
Execute unit test cases for application enhancements and maintenance activities using Jest, Enzyme, and Cypress frameworks.
Develop application programming interface (API) Microservices layers to interact with application systems based on user stories and requirements.
Develop Microservices layers for integrating business needs with external systems.
Write SQL queries for Oracle Database and contribute to NoSQL database queries.
Gather functional and design requirements from Product and User Experience Designers, perform impact analysis, and track tasks for timely completion.
Provide technical solutions to improve application performance and automate activities.
Perform DevOps duties including CI/CD over Linux servers using Jenkins, and maintain shell scripting for automatic deployments.
Validate application health using tools such as NewRelic and Application Performance Management.
Mentor the Portal team, manage and lead engineers, and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Build and iterate on features using latest methodologies to ensure scalability and reliability.
Work with product managers to prioritize features, align with architectural and security standards, and enable the web product vision.

Requirements

Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, or a related field.
5 years of progressive experience in software development, including front-end development using JavaScript.
2 years of experience with AWS and CI/CD practices.
1 year of experience with Node JS, Microservices, and MongoDB.
6 months of experience with React JS, Redux, Unit Testing, Jest, Enzyme, and Cypress.
Ability to work in a hybrid role, including remote work capabilities.

Qualifications

Experience in software development and front-end development using JavaScript.
Experience with AWS, CI/CD, Node JS, Microservices, MongoDB, React JS, Redux, and testing frameworks.
