About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer at The Trade Desk is responsible for monitoring and improving existing features, collaborating with stakeholders to understand requirements, designing and developing software solutions using a variety of technologies, and working on large-scale distributed systems. The role involves enhancing user interfaces, investigating bugs, and participating in all aspects of product delivery to clients, with a focus on high-quality, scalable, and innovative solutions within a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor performance and quality of existing features, respond to issues raised by customers or stakeholders, and implement improvements or new capabilities.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, user experience designers, and researchers to understand and determine the scope, impact, risks, and success criteria for feature development and modifications.
  • Create high-level design documents for features and systems, vet designs with colleagues, and modify designs after discussions.
  • Gather requirements for new features or systems from customers and business stakeholders, prepare software designs and estimates, and develop code to implement these designs.
  • Use and modify existing manual and automated testing methodologies to validate work and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Participate in designing, building, and delivering products to clients, including large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
  • Improve the user interface web platform, investigate bugs, design features, and implement updates across database, back-end, and front-end software.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to gather requirements, define product design specifications, and implement solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science or related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related role.
  • Four (4) years of experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and CSS, including client-side libraries and frameworks.
  • Three (3) years of experience with server-side languages such as C#, Java, or similar, and with software development code editors and version control systems.
  • Two (2) years of experience with Agile Scrum tools.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working on large-scale distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of machine learning, advanced visualizations, and interactive user interfaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
