About the Role

The Senior Software Engineer, Capital Markets, is responsible for delivering technically complex solutions within the Capital Markets technology platform. The role involves system integration, consulting with business product owners, and supporting applications across various financial domains such as Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Foreign Exchange, and more. The position requires collaboration within agile teams to develop, test, and maintain high-quality software that aligns with company standards and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver technically complex solutions and perform system integration activities for all project work.
  • Consult and partner with business product owners to understand end goals and offer solutions and recommendations during the design process.
  • Focus on applications specific to the Capital Markets technology platform, including supporting various financial products and integration tools such as MuleSoft and TIBCO.
  • Lead and participate in the development, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of highly complex solutions in adherence to company standards.
  • Manage robust unit testing associated with user stories and drive automation of unit testing leveraging DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Provide escalated support for highly complex applications in production environments.
  • Ensure adherence to company standards and industry best practices.
  • Lead moderately complex projects and participate in larger initiatives.
  • Solve complex technical and operational problems, acting as a resource for less experienced teammates.
  • Oversee the work of a small team and provide leadership in the design, development, and maintenance of solutions.
  • Work within a feature team framework, analyzing features and facilitating decomposition to user stories.
  • Work directly with business stakeholders from initiation to delivery, ensuring high-quality software solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Support and oversee integration and functional testing, ensuring code meets acceptance criteria.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems and ten years of experience as a developer or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience participating in Capital Markets initiatives with a focus on IT delivery.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and logically.
  • Demonstrable experience working in an Agile delivery methodology.
  • Capital Markets domain expertise, including knowledge of sales and trading lifecycle, relevant products, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to lead complex projects and break work into manageable scope.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical and business problems.
  • Knowledge of three or more of the following: Data Analysis/Mining (R, Python), Business Intelligence (Qlikview, Tableau, MSPowerBI), Distributed systems (J2EE, .Net, Middleware, MuleSoft/TIBCO, WebServices, JavaScript), Database platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, SnowFlake, PostgreSQL, Hadoop).
  • Experience leveraging automated development and operations (DevSecOps) with cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle.
  • Experience supporting Capital Markets regulatory environment (SEC, FINRA, CFTC, NFA, FED).
  • Experience supporting or integrating quant libraries and knowledge of machine learning/AI principles.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders to adopt new perspectives.

Nice to Have

  • Master's degree or MBA, CFA, and ten years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Banking or financial services experience.
  • SaFE Agile certification or similar designation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems.
  • Ten years of experience as a developer or equivalent work experience.
