About the Role

The organization is seeking a skilled and adaptable Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in software engineering to join a dynamic team. The role involves maintaining and upgrading existing web servers critical to the organization's operations, as well as contributing to new development initiatives. The position requires working in a fast-paced environment, handling complex technical challenges, and supporting both new and legacy systems.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the maintenance and management of current web servers
Spearhead migration efforts to newer Linux OS versions
Ensure seamless functionality during upgrades, particularly with CASPORT authorization
Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate new solutions
Architect improvements to existing web infrastructures
Implement strategic goals and establish operational plans for the technical area
Develop and implement innovative products, processes, standards, or operational plans through research and integration of best practices
Significantly improve existing processes and practices
Communicate with executive leadership
Provide measurable input into new products, processes, systems, and operational plans with impact on overall function results
Demonstrate technical innovation in supporting business objectives and mission
Improve upon existing processes and systems using significant conceptualizing, reasoning, and interpretation
Investigate and resolve numerous, typically undefined problems requiring extensive technical knowledge
Communicate with internal and external stakeholders
Influence others to accept new concepts, practices, and approaches
Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other technical employees
Lead large, complex project initiatives of strategic importance involving cross-functional teams
Serve as a subject matter expert within the organization

Requirements

Extensive experience in software engineering
Ability to maintain and upgrade web servers
Experience with Linux OS migration and upgrades
Knowledge of CASPORT authorization processes
Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams
Ability to develop and implement operational plans and strategic goals
Experience in developing innovative products, processes, and standards
Excellent communication skills, including communicating with executive leadership
Proven ability to solve complex, undefined problems through investigation and technical knowledge
Experience leading large, strategic projects
Ability to influence and guide others in adopting new practices
