About the Role

Qualcomm's Snapdragon Studios are seeking an experienced engineer to implement the latest gaming AI solutions contributing to the best-in-class gaming experiences for the Snapdragon chipset. The role focuses on developing novel Machine Learning based solutions for gaming applications and adapting traditional game AI techniques leveraging Snapdragon's dedicated AI hardware. This position involves working closely with multiple hardware, software, and product teams on a variety of Snapdragon powered devices, offering an opportunity to work with cutting-edge hardware and contribute to high performance, connected mobile and PC gaming. The team is passionate about next generation gaming technologies and delivering exceptional gaming experiences, comprising veteran game developers, artists, game engine experts, and graphics enthusiasts working on GPU and gaming hardware innovations across mobile, PC, and XR.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with AI teams within Qualcomm to adapt, optimize and implement Machine Learning models (from Qualcomm's R&D or published literature) to run natively on Qualcomm platforms.
  • Analyze performance and memory, implementing ways to optimize.
  • Develop libraries to apply models for a gaming use-case.
  • Work with Unreal Engine: Integrate functionality of these Models as Unreal Engine Plugins and work with artists to create visual showcase demos.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional experience.
  • Strong C/C++ skills.
  • Hands-on experience using Machine Learning frameworks including TensorFlow, ONNX, and/or PyTorch.

Nice to Have

  • Foundational knowledge of machine learning models and training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI Model architectures.
  • Experience with machine learning accelerators, optimizing algorithms for hardware acceleration cores using CUDA, OpenCL, DSPs and/or ML specific cores.
  • Familiar with modern PC/console game engine architectures including Unreal, Unity, Frostbite, Snowdrop, etc.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Game Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR Master's degree in Game Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.
  • OR PhD in Game Development, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
