About the Role

You'll be working on a platform that directly affects millions of drivers' livelihoods and riders' experiences every day. Our pricing systems process billions of real-time decisions, balancing marketplace efficiency, driver earnings, and rider satisfaction. You'll have the opportunity to solve unique technical challenges at the intersection of real-time optimization and distributed systems, build infrastructure for one of the world's largest marketplace platforms, work with cutting-edge pricing algorithms and ML systems at unprecedented scale, and shape the technical direction of critical business infrastructure with direct P&L impact.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with Marketplace, Data Science, and Product teams to build a unified infrastructure supporting pricing algorithms and marketplace optimization
Collaborate with ML Engineering teams to scale model inference and real-time feature serving for pricing decisions
Partner with Platform Engineering teams to ensure 99.99% availability for critical pricing systems
Drive innovation in distributed systems design, focusing on low-latency, high-throughput pricing infrastructure
Mentor junior engineers and grow technical leadership capability across the marketplace organization

Requirements

6+ years of backend industry experience with demonstrated exceptional technical leadership
Experience with microservices architecture, service mesh, and observability at scale
Exceptional coding skills in Go and Java, with experience in high-performance system design
Proven track record of extraordinary impact, such as working on real-time infrastructure serving 100M+ users or 1M+ QPS

Nice to Have

Master Degree
Background in real-time pricing, optimization, platformization (e.g., experimentation platforms), or ML infrastructure
Open-source contributions
Track record of operational excellence: incident management, SLA optimization, and system reliability

Qualifications

Educational background such as a Master Degree (preferred)
