Join us to invest in yourself, your career, and the financial world. Onsite-Hybrid We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineer to join our SAFE team at SoFi. The team's mission is to build and support a suite of Risk decisioning and event detection platforms and services that reduce fraud/risk across all SoFi products, empowering the company to proactively detect and fight fraud while safeguarding customer trust. The team collaborates closely with cross-functional engineering groups and Risk business units to protect SoFi from fraud attacks. By proactively identifying and managing potential risks, they help reduce fraud exposure while providing a balanced, risk-aware experience for SoFi Members, fostering long-term trust and confidence. As a Senior Software Engineer on our team, you'll be tasked with building critical components and features. You will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, testing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong sense of ownership and drive for delivery, a hunger for learning and is a good mentor and co-worker.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, architect, and implement end-to-end solutions that encompass both front-end and back-end components.
  • Utilize expertise in various programming languages, frameworks, and technologies to deliver high-quality and scalable software applications.
  • Partner with senior leaders in the Anti-Money Laundering function to provide consultancy and translate business needs into solutions, metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.
  • Design and develop robust, scalable, and secure server-side applications and APIs.
  • Work with databases and data models to manage and store information effectively.
  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines to support efficient data processing and analysis.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and provide insights to drive technical decisions.
  • Conduct thorough testing of software components, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in software development.
  • Review code contributions from junior developers and provide constructive feedback.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for developed software, APIs, and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree, Computer Science Degree, or equivalent from a fully-accredited college or university.
  • 3+ years of programming experience, ideally on a modern stack.
  • Strong expertise in back-end technologies and programming languages, such as Java, Kotlin, Springboot, Node.js, Python, C#, Kafka, PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Kubernetes in a service-oriented architecture with over 100 services in production.
  • Knowledge of RESTful API design and implementation.
  • Willingness to collaborate and get things done.
  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership, driving projects from inception to completion.
  • Affinity for solving problems and diving deep into details.
  • Experience working in a collaborative coding environment, including code reviews and managing pull requests.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience working on an SOA or microservice-based application.

Nice to Have

  • Experience scaling highly available, mission-critical systems.
  • Test-driven development along with unit and integration testing.
  • Front end experience.

Qualifications

  • Educational background in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with modern programming stacks and back-end technologies.

Benefits & Perks

  • The base pay range for this role is $128,000.00 - $240,000.00 annually.
  • Final offer depends on experience, skills, and location.
