Senior Software Engineer/Developer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to driving the digital transformation and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Vital Records' systems in support of the Public Health Infrastructure grant.
• Develop and implement strategies for migrating legacy workflows and applications to cloud platforms.
• Implement and oversee a comprehensive monitoring system to track the performance and health of cloud resources.
• Identify and develop software solutions to align with the program's goals and objectives.
• Recommend, develop, and/or implement a comprehensive cloud migration strategy.
• Design and implement cloud-native architecture that aligns with program requirements and best practices.
• Help make technology decisions impacting the overall modernization strategy and build out new capabilities.
• Provide oversight to other solution engineers, driving solutions from idea to implementation.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology and four years of computer programming, database design/development, or systems analysis experience.
• OR an Associate's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology and six years of such experience.
• OR eight years of such experience.
• A Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology may substitute for one year of experience.
• Experience with cloud-based data warehousing platforms (at least three years).
• Experience with ETL development and applications that interact with cloud-based APIs.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Groovy, Ruby, or Perl (at least three years).
• Experience with SQL (at least three years).

Nice to Have

• Experience with developing applications that interact with cloud-based APIs to access and manage data.

Qualifications

• Formal educational background including a Bachelor's, Associate's, or Master's degree in relevant fields.
• Experience with cloud platforms, ETL, scripting languages, and SQL as specified in requirements.
