About the Role

The Senior Staff Data Scientist role at Insulet Corporation is responsible for research and development of global analytics and data science initiatives, supporting the company's data analytics strategy. Working closely with the Sr Manager, Analytics COE, the role involves developing a deep understanding of multiple datasets, creating tools and processes to transform data into insights, mentoring other data scientists, and collaborating with external stakeholders across various departments to drive impactful research projects and algorithms that improve patient outcomes and business performance. Key Responsibilities

Work with IT and cross-functional teams to identify data sources, design data ingestion, and develop data cleanup and pre-processing scripts.
Leverage cloud computing technologies such as Azure, AWS, GCP, and Databricks for automated machine learning and analytics pipelines.
Explore data patterns using existing data science tools and self-created programs.
Perform statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and generate automated reports as needed.
Develop and implement algorithms for insulin pump therapy optimization and next-generation artificial pancreas insulin control.
Clearly communicate findings to a broad audience in relation to business objectives.
Mentor junior engineers and data scientists.
Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

At least 8 years of work experience in data science or machine learning, with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
At least 4 years of work experience in data science or machine learning, with a Master's degree or Doctorate in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience in Python and Spark.
Demonstrated proficiency in SQL and relational databases such as Oracle, Teradata, or Microsoft SQL Server.
Knowledge of diabetes pathophysiology, insulin signaling, and/or human physiology is desirable.
Experience with cloud platforms and data pipelines.

Nice to Have

Experience in R, Matlab, or other analytic software tools.
Knowledge of non-relational databases like MongoDB.
Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Spotfire, Tableau, or Cognos.
Demonstrated knowledge of software engineering principles.
Goal-driven mentality.
Experience in medical device or healthcare industries.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related field (minimum).
Master's degree or Doctorate in relevant fields (preferred).

Benefits & Perks

Base salary range of $142,950.00 - $214,425.00, determined by role, level, and location.
