Senior Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack, Google Workspace

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide architectural expertise and thought leadership to bring Sheets performance to the next level.
• Lead software engineering team to deliver excellent, scalable, efficient, and sustainable products.
• Attract talent, develop and support teams and managers.
• Provide an environment where everyone can do their work and provide technical leadership.
• Work with Product Management and other cross-functional roles.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 7 years of experience with full stack development, including back-end (Java, Python, GO, or C++) and front-end (JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS).
• 5 years of experience with design, architecture, and testing/launching software products.

Nice to Have

• Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 8 years of experience with data structures/algorithms.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
• Experience with software architecture for Spreadsheet.
• Experience in system optimization, architecture trade-offs, latency measurement, large-scale data processing, and ability to think strategically to develop innovative system design solutions.

• Educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• US base salary range for this full-time position is $248,000-$349,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
• Additional benefits include bonus, equity, and other perks as part of Google's total compensation package.
