About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The role involves working on critical projects related to Google's infrastructure, including the Google Compute Engine (GCE) Node Team, which delivers General Purpose Compute Virtual Machines and drives core technology investments. The position focuses on driving the Dynamic Resource Management technology roadmap to enable highly efficient compute for a wide range of workloads, supporting Google's mission to provide enterprise-grade solutions and help organizations digitally transform their businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of the Google Compute Engine (GCE) Dynamic Resource Management roadmap.
Collaborate with Product Management to define and prioritize roadmap features.
Partner with Product Engineering teams to ensure successful implementation.
Analyze performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in software development.
Experience with compute systems internals like CPU and Memory architectures.
Experience with Virtualization.
Experience with data structures and algorithms.
Experience with Linux Kernel Internals.
Experience with Linux Memory Management.
Experience with C++ programming language.

Nice to Have

Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.

Qualifications

Formal educational background in Computer Science or related fields (implied by degree requirements).
Experience with large-scale system design and technical leadership roles.
