About the Role

The Senior Vice President, Application Development Manager at BNY is a leadership role responsible for managing a team that delivers technology solutions within the AI HUB. The role involves driving cutting-edge AI solutions in a dynamic, collaborative environment, providing thought leadership to Data Science teams, ensuring best practices in tech development, and overseeing the full software development lifecycle. Located in Pittsburgh, PA, this position offers a hybrid work model with 4 days/week onsite, and is integral to a leading global financial services company committed to innovation, inclusion, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team responsible for delivery of technology solutions within the AI HUB
Provide thought leadership and support for Data Science team with issues and questions (e.g., through office hours)
Ensure application of tech development best practices
Oversee and drive on-time completion of analysis, design, development, testing, and release of critical applications
Guide production issues support and root cause analysis to remove blockers
Escalate incidents or concerns to the Engineering Lead for resolution as needed
Partner with business and subject matter experts to define requirements and deliver strategic data solutions that address organizational needs
Execute the full software development lifecycle (design, code, test, deploy, and maintain), applying security, privacy, and quality assurance best practices
Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve efficient and scalable solutions

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
10+ years of experience in systems analysis and program development with related supervisory, management, and administrative experience
Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus; preference for tech company, fintech, or start-up environments
Technical expertise in modern development environments: Java, Spring Boot, Python, JavaScript (Angular)
Extensive software and tech asset development experience
Effective coaching and collaboration skills

Drive for execution and continuous learning
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor Data Science teams
