Job Description

About the Role

The opportunity involves working as a systems software developer focused on analyzing simulator system dependencies, determining requirements for new capabilities, managing configurations and hardware updates, and maintaining a nominal operating environment in a hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) simulation lab. The role supports airborne platforms and ground support systems to enhance cybersecurity and defense capabilities, with responsibilities including reviewing priorities, identifying security weaknesses, developing simulation frameworks, and supporting testing and data analysis. The position emphasizes applying principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to secure skies for the future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review priorities and concepts to identify requirements, system dependencies, and potential security weaknesses.
  • Review technical and environmental details from subject matter experts, engineering documentation, and engineers to help recommend testing priorities.
  • Develop and configure simulation and data logging frameworks for test bed modifications.
  • Create automation scripts needed for synchronization of system components during testing execution.
  • Support integration, test execution, data aggregation, and reporting.
  • Research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software and aerospace computing applications.
  • Set operational specifications and analyze software requirements.
  • Apply principles of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to develop secure and efficient software solutions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a system software developer.
  • Experience with Python, C+, GitHub, and Jira.
  • Experience with avionics software and components or databases.
  • Experience with networking concepts, IP addressing, and Wireshark.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
  • Ability to be self-motivated, time conscious, and goal-oriented.
  • Top Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with NIST security controls and associated RMF documentation.
  • Experience with MIL-1553 or ARINC 429 Bus communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of aircraft wiring diagrams, technical manuals, component maintenance manuals, and electrical concepts.
  • Possession of excellent technical writing skills.
  • Master's degree.
  • ACARS Communication Protocol Certification.
