Job Description

About the Role

The Software Developer is responsible for assisting in the design, development, and troubleshooting of software at the operation. This includes analyzing existing systems in cooperation with plant and corporate management to increase efficiency, timeliness, and value of report information, while reducing overall operating expenses. The role involves developing, implementing, and instructing users on newly approved systems with minimal disruption to current operations, and managing the operation and growth of multiple facilities and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities

Code, test, and troubleshoot programs utilizing the appropriate hardware, database, and programming technology.
Meet or exceed customer expectations daily through a positive attitude, consistent follow-up, and frequent communication with requestors on the status of projects and issues.
Maintain and modify programs and make approved changes by amending reporting, developing detailed programming logic, and coding changes.
Write new program code using prescribed specifications as documented and approved on internal change request systems.
Evaluate simple interrelationships between programs to prevent unwanted results from changes in related parts.
Analyze program performance and take corrective actions based on consultation with users and appropriate approvals.
Confer with users to understand needed changes or modifications of existing programs.
Resolve questions of program intent, data input/output requirements, and internal checks and controls.
Document and map processes to identify needs, inefficiencies, and sources of error, and improve processes through modifications or new applications.
Maintain confidentiality regarding information being processed, stored, or accessed.
Document programming changes, problems, and resolutions for future reference and change control management.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
Five or more years of relevant software development experience with extensive use of Microsoft .Net frameworks and SQL.
Experience with Visual Studio and object-oriented programming methodology, preferably C#.
Experience with T-SQL.
Working knowledge of the Microsoft development stack.
Experience with PowerBI, DAX, SSRS.

Nice to Have

Understanding of basic troubleshooting concepts, software version control, and software testing.
Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Good interpersonal skills for interaction with production personnel and coworkers.
Proven oral and written communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
Five or more years of relevant software development experience.
