Software Developer for Lab Informatics/ Life Science Platforms - San Diego

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Operational status reporting
• Handling L2/L3 support tickets, including incident management, problem investigations, and break fix development
• Conducting business analysis to clarify requirements for minor enhancements and demonstrating developed solutions
• Collaborating with other IT analysts to improve processes and policies
• Supporting and administering ITIL-focused activities such as change, release, and risk management
• Engaging with onsite end users and client IT leadership to identify opportunities for service improvement
• Resolving urgent issues like account unlocks and providing application reports for business needs

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of software development experience, preferably in pharma/biotech
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Ability to write complex SQL queries and stored procedures
• Experience developing full-stack applications including front-end, back-end, and database components
• Experience building user interfaces with forms, data tables, and state management using JavaScript and jQuery
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot existing codebases
• Willingness and ability to learn new programming languages quickly
• Bachelor's degree or higher
• Foundation training in ITIL v3 or V4 (Certificate desirable)
• Understanding of Agile principles
• Experience with enterprise ITSM tools such as ServiceNow
• Good knowledge of ITIL processes and their practical application
• Strong expertise with CSOD Learning Management System, including Reporting 2.0 and integrations
• CSOD core and LMS certification or willingness to obtain it
• Experience with CSOD release management, patch updates, and usage support
• Knowledge of GxP processes in Life Sciences or Pharma industry is a plus
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Great attention to detail and time management skills
• Strong work ethic and proactive attitude
• Ability to work independently without much supervision
• 8-10 years of experience in LMS/learning domain, with at least 3-4 years in CSOD
• Candidate should be located in the US East Coast or willing to work in EST time zone

• Experience with Dotmatics ELN and its APIs
• Experience with AWS and Docker
• Experience with VueJS, npm, ColdFusion
• Experience with API development and data visualization
• Proficient with command-line tools such as grep, sed, awk
• Experience working in agile teams (scrum, sprints)
• Scientific background in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or related life sciences
• Experience integrating scientific instruments and workflows
• Experience migrating legacy code to new frameworks
