About the Role

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), an affiliate of General Atomics, is a world leader in proven, reliable remotely piloted aircraft and tactical reconnaissance radars, as well as advanced high-resolution surveillance systems. Under general supervision and with ongoing review, this position researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide end-user, system level, and data management software applications. Responsible for meeting software compliance standards, evaluating integration of software applications with the overall computing environment, and documentation, testing, maintenance, and software updates. Communicates with domain experts, users, and management throughout the software development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine requirements and specifications and plan for software development within the broader organizational scope, supporting automated testing infrastructure and application development.
  • Formulate detailed plans for the implementation of software solutions, including determining language, platform, software tools, and resource requirements.
  • Implement design through coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Maintain code by debugging and updating to keep pace with the evolving environment.
  • Assist in planning for future improvements based on new developments in software tools and infrastructure.
  • Work closely with software development teams to ensure automated testing infrastructure meets their needs.
  • Implement automated test cases and test tools to verify complex software with various user interfaces and simulators.
  • Attend regular project meetings to provide status updates, collect feedback, and stay informed on project progress.
  • Constantly improve automated software testing in an ever-changing environment.
  • Maintain the strict confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Experience in researching, designing, developing, and modifying enterprise-wide software applications.
  • Ability to plan and formulate detailed implementation plans for software solutions.
  • Proficiency in coding, testing, and documentation of software designs.
  • Skills in debugging and updating code to adapt to changing environments.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with domain experts, users, and management.
  • Ability to work under supervision and participate in team meetings.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with automated testing infrastructure development.
  • Knowledge of software compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with software integration within complex computing environments.
