About the Role

General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems (GA-EMS) designs and manufactures first-of-a-kind electromagnetic and electric power generation systems. GA-EMS's expanding portfolio of specialized products and integrated system solutions support critical fleet, space systems and satellites, missile defense, power and energy, and process and monitoring applications for defense, industrial, and commercial customers worldwide. We are currently hiring a Software Engineer for the GA-EMS Radar Technologies Directorate to develop Radar application software targeted for a Linux environment in a hybrid work setting.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement new software applications using C++ and Python.
Build, deploy, and manage containerized applications.
Contribute to and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure reliable, repeatable software delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define system architecture and requirements.
Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues and performance problems.
Participate in design and code reviews and contribute to improving engineering standards.

Requirements

Experience developing software applications in C++ and Python.
Knowledge of containerized application deployment and management.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and software delivery processes.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex software issues.
Strong collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
Experience working in a Linux environment.

Nice to Have

Experience with radar systems or related defense technologies.
Knowledge of software engineering standards and best practices.
