About the Role

Trilogy Innovations is seeking Software Developers to remotely support our federal customer. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team, while taking part in a multi-year initiative to modernize our federal customer's large-scale IT systems. The role requires at least a Secret Security Clearance, and the primary work location is remote.

Key Responsibilities

Develops, creates, and modifies general computer applications software or specialized utility programs.
Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.
Designs or customizes software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.
Analyzes and designs databases within an application area, working individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.
Researches, designs, develops, and tests operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for various applications.
Sets operational specifications and formulates and analyzes software requirements.
Designs embedded systems software.
Applies principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
Migrate current-system functionality from mainframes to a cloud-based environment (AWS GovCloud).
Incorporate modern name search capabilities.
Expand image handling to accept larger files and support additional formats such as PDF.
Transition investigative search to Elasticsearch for faster response times.
Build new services following a microservices architecture within containers using OpenShift.
Transition database functionality from IBM DB2 to cloud data stores.
Update NIEM schemas and IEPDs to enable updated functionality and retire outdated message formats.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 5 years of work experience.
Active Tier 3 Secret clearance.
Proficient with Java Object-Oriented Programming.
Experience with Kubernetes and containers; automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
Experience with Cloud-native architectures.
Experience with event-driven architectures; streaming (preferred).

Nice to Have

Experience with Apache Kafka.
Experience with Pub/Sub (Publish, subscribe).
Streaming experience is a plus.
Experience with event sources.
Experience running GitOps (GitLab, Git, Bitbucket, ArgoCD, Tecton, etc.) within version control tools.
Familiarity with Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket) for version control management.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5 years of work experience.
Bachelor's Degree.
