Software Developer (Telemetry)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Research, design, and develop computer and network software and specialized utility programs.
• Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Update software and enhance existing software capabilities.
• Design, develop, and support software applications that form the equipment control system telemetry products and services, including embedded products, cloud-based back-end APIs, locally hosted backend APIs, and front-end web applications.
• Develop documentation describing the software requirements and system architectures.
• Develop training and end user documentation, where applicable.
• Provide internal and external support to ensure the smooth implementation and correct functioning of telemetry systems and software elements.
• Work closely with company management for strategic planning of telemetry products and services.

Requirements

• 4 years of software development experience.
• Expertise in programming of mobile mining equipment and systems.
• Proficiency supporting controls and automation technologies to improve safety and productivity.
• Knowledge of core web technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, ASP.Net, Javascript, jQuery, and AngularJS.
• Expertise with MS SQL, SQL .net connector, XML, and Web Services.
• Experience with Windows 2003/2008 Server, IIS 6.0/7.0/7/5, and basic network skills.
• Strong understanding of building and maintaining high quality web applications.
• Proficiency in integration of front-end website with back-end systems.
• Expertise of API integrations (Google APIs, Gateway Payments, and SMS Gateway).
• Experience using relational database technologies: MySQL, MS SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
• General knowledge of testing, debugging, diagnosing, and correcting errors and faults in application programming languages.

Nice to Have

• Experience supporting controls and automation technologies in mining or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of embedded products and cloud-based back-end APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
