About the Role

We create building blocks of Extend Applications such as Business Objects, Business Processes, Reports, Tasks, and Security Domains, enabling customers to define their own metadata models and workflows that interact with native Workday metadata. The role involves contributing to the design and development of the Core Architecture that powers persistence components for Workday Extend applications.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with peers, product owners, and designers to design, build, test, and deliver high-quality software to our developer community
Write clear, efficient, and scalable code with an eye towards maintainability
Participate in design and code reviews
Discover and solve issues with existing architecture and code
Polish, improve, and innovate with regards to the existing code base
Support release planning by understanding the effort, risk, and priority of planned features in an agile environment
Own and contribute to team productivity and process improvements

Requirements

5+ years experience in Object Oriented Design and Programming, proficient in Java/Kotlin
5+ years of software and systems delivery experience
BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields

Nice to Have

Strong in algorithms and data structures
Experience with REST, including good API design
Experience with microservice architecture, distributed systems, concurrency, and multithreading
Proficiency with development tools like git, Docker, Gradle, Jenkins
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
Experienced at leading complex projects requiring prototyping and designs from the ground-up
Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities
Experience working in an Agile environment

Qualifications

BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields
