Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and support backend services and infrastructure that are foundational to the development ecosystem.
- Work on Java services, enhance NGINX-based delivery systems, and develop CI/CD automation using GitHub Actions.
- Contribute to platform-wide efforts that improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in a paid on-call rotation to support the systems you help build.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across the company to improve service reliability, scalability, and performance.
Requirements
- 3+ years building backend services with Java and Spring Boot.
- 1+ year of experience in writing and debugging Bash scripts on Linux-based systems.
- 1+ year of practical experience developing automation or deployment scripts using Python.
- Proven track record of containerizing and deploying applications using Docker in production environments.
- Hands-on experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
- Background in configuring NGINX for static content delivery or enhancing functionality using Lua (e.g., via OpenResty).
- Familiar with observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or the ELK stack.
- Experience contributing to improvements in system reliability, scalability, or performance.
- Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and services across AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Understanding of asynchronous processing and fault-tolerant service patterns, including retries and circuit breakers.
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to managing CI/CD workflows for static assets or frontend build pipelines.
- Experience supporting internal platform tools or developer self-service systems.
