About the Role

The Software Engineer - CIAM role is part of the Platform Engineering organization at Thomson Reuters, responsible for building and maintaining the Customer Identity & Access Management (CIAM) Platform. This platform consolidates and replaces multiple identity systems with a secure, high-availability, cloud-based, standards-driven solution to manage customer authentication and authorization across all Thomson Reuters products. The role involves developing cloud-native applications, collaborating across teams, and working with identity standards and cloud platforms to support the company's core services.

Key Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of the development lifecycle including ideation, design, build, test, and operation.
Emphasize test and deployment automation using various commercial and open source tools.
Collaborate with technologists across the company to build cloud native applications.
Develop REST APIs using Java or .NET core.
Ensure projects align with cloud architectural guiding principles.
Maintain extreme transparency and collaboration with all product teams.
Participate in Scrum teams and embrace an agile work model.
Keep up to date with emerging cloud technology trends, especially in identity access management and open source/cloud vendors such as AWS and Azure.

Requirements

Interest in Identity Management.
Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Experience developing REST APIs using Java or .NET Core.

Nice to Have

Bachelor's degree in a related technology program.
Experience with a major Identity Provider such as Ping, Okta, or Auth0 for workforce or customer identity and access management.
Experience with automation and CI/CD tools using CloudFormation, Terraform, or GitOps.
Experience developing cloud native applications and services on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Familiarity with identity management solutions using OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, or SCIM.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related technology field (preferred).
Experience with identity providers like Ping, Okta, or Auth0.
Experience with automation and CI/CD tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or GitOps.
Experience with cloud native application development on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Knowledge of identity management standards like OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, or SCIM.
