Software Engineer 2 (Java Spring Boot/cloud migration)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing, developing, testing, operating and maintaining products
• Takes full stack ownership by consistently writing production-ready and testable code
• Creates optimal design adhering to architectural best practices, considering scalability, reliability, and performance
• Performs analysis on failures, proposes design changes, and encourages operational improvements
• Makes sound design and coding decisions with customer experience in mind
• Takes feedback from code reviews and applies changes to meet standards
• Conducts code reviews to guide engineering best practices and compliance
• Ensures all aspects of product development follow compliance and security standards
• Embeds software reliability engineering standards into development processes
• Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Reviews tasks critically, prioritizes and sizes them for incremental delivery, and communicates blockers or delays

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• Three to five years of relevant experience
• Experience designing and engineering enterprise scale cloud architecture
• Experience migrating enterprise applications to public cloud (Azure preferred)
• Experience using, designing, and developing Microservices
• Experience with open-source technologies like Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and containerization
• Familiarity with MS SQL Server and .NET Framework/Core
• Thorough understanding of multiple teams' domains and their contribution to business and technical strategy
• Proven ability to design complex distributed applications for high performance, scalability, and reliability
• Experience with QA Automation Frameworks such as Karate and BDD Cucumber

Nice to Have

• Previous experience with IBM Mainframe
• Experience designing solutions that integrate with internal or vendor platforms
• Expertise in performance, scalability, enterprise system architecture, and engineering best practices in an agile environment
