Job Description

About the Role

Leidos is seeking a qualified Software Engineer to support the Custom Border Patrol TVPS program, which manages travelers entering the country via airports, seaports, pedestrian, and vehicle lanes. The role involves supporting other teams within the contract and client applications, developing and troubleshooting software solutions, creating test cases, supporting deployment, and participating in testing phases. The position requires on-call support for traveler-related issues and is based in Ashburn, VA, with on-site visits twice a week.

Key Responsibilities

Develop code and troubleshoot issues arising from working with different teams and client applications.
Design, develop solutions, and create test cases for new development projects.
Support deployment of software to the production environment to ensure systems are functioning properly.
Participate in testing phases by supporting testing with client application teams and developing test cases.
Support issues or concerns related to travelers, including participating in on-call rotations during evenings, holidays, and weekends.
Work independently or as part of a team in troubleshooting and problem resolution, including analyzing logs to determine causes.

Requirements

Over 10 years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, Maven, React, Angular, and testing frameworks.
Ability to maintain and obtain a CBP Background Investigation prior to start.
Must be a US citizen.
Experience in troubleshooting problems and working with multiple teams to develop requirements.
Good customer interaction and communication skills, including documentation and ticket resolution.
Willingness to support the contract during evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed.
Willing to travel to the DC area once or twice a week for on-site visits.
Ability to work with a team or independently.
Experience looking into logs to determine causes of issues.

Nice to Have

Experience with Harness, Gitlab, Confluence, Jira, Agile development.
DHS BI clearance.

Qualifications
