Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance back-end micro services and APIs that exceed customer expectations.
• Work on unit and functional test automation to ensure platform stability.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD implementation practices.
• Foster the growth of Agile cloud development practices within the organization.
• Pioneer new and innovative solutions by leveraging the newest offerings from AWS.
• Provide support and technical guidance for domains in the factory architecture of satellite imagery ground systems.
• Collaborate with skilled and motivated teammates and peers, sharing knowledge and working through challenges collaboratively.
• Provide Tier-3 level support for the software applications owned by the team.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with the ability to apply for and hold a US Government Secret National Security Clearance.
• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related major, or 4 years of professional work experience in a software engineering role as a substitute.
• Entry-level candidates should have demonstrated experience with Java, Python, or similar software application development languages.
• Associate-level candidates should have 2+ years of engineering experience providing enterprise solutions with Java, Python, or similar languages; a Master's degree may count for 2 years of experience.
• Experience or familiarity with Agile software development lifecycle is a plus.
• Exposure to building and supporting solutions in an AWS cloud infrastructure is a plus.
• Experience with JSON/REST, Service Oriented Architectures, Spatial Databases, and/or Linux is a plus.
• Experience building monitoring and alerting systems in a serverless architecture is a plus.
• Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to stay organized while balancing multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or 4 years of professional experience in a related role.
• Demonstrated experience with Java, Python, or similar languages.
• Experience providing enterprise solutions (for associate-level candidates).
• Ability to obtain and hold a US Government Secret National Security Clearance.
