Software Engineer

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Supports engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations; supervising associate engineers on occasion.
• Understand system protocols, system operations, and data flows; independently develop a complete software stack; engage in independent study of current technologies.
• Apply ML techniques to detect anomalies in system logs, metrics, and traces, reducing mean time to detection (MTTD) and mean time to resolution (MTTR).
• Collaborate with technical teams and use system expertise to deliver technical solutions.
• Write basic documentation on how technology works; contribute clear documentation for new code and systems used.
• Document systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for engineer-level consumption.
• Contribute to emerging technologies to support business goals; demonstrate understanding of current technologies and system dependencies.
• Present new ideas to improve existing systems, processes, or services using new frameworks; review current company processes for potential improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
• 2-4 years of technical engineering experience
• Experience in developing Kubernetes native applications
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and AlertManager
• Proficiency in Golang and Python, shell scripting, and Docker containers
• Proficient with Git, DevOps practices, and Helm charts
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code with Helm charts, Ansible, or Terraform
• Proficient in Linux system administration
• Strong communication, customer service, analytics, and technical writing skills
• At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
• Travel required

Nice to Have

• Experience with metrics monitoring
• Knowledge of system protocols, system operations, and data flows
• Experience with virtualization, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms
