About the Role

FanDuel Group is the premier mobile gaming company in the United States and Canada, operating leading brands across mobile wagering, iGaming, horse racing, and daily fantasy sports. The role involves working on the Account vertical, specifically on the Protect pillar, to enhance account security and prevent unauthorized activities across various platforms using technologies like Java, Typescript (React), Python, and AWS services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in empowered, multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions that improve account security and user verification processes.
  • Create, improve, or invent small tools or applications to support account safety and verification.
  • Turn defined designs into code and deliver on schedule, applying current software engineering best practices.
  • Write secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code with minimal defects.
  • Participate in team design, scoping, and prioritization discussions.
  • Seek to understand the business context and technologies behind the team's software.
  • Identify opportunities and problems arising from technical decisions and work collaboratively to address them.
  • Invent, refine, and develop solutions to meet customer needs and team goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to meet evolving business needs.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years of relevant work experience preferred.
  • Experience with web libraries and frameworks such as React, Typescript, and Bootstrap.
  • Experience developing distributed, highly scalable backend systems and APIs using Java or similar languages.
  • Fundamental understanding of data structures and algorithms.
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
  • Experience with testing concepts, tools, and integrating testing into the SDLC.
  • Desire to learn and develop skills through a growth mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to change.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with AWS services such as K8s, EKS, Lambdas, RDS Aurora, SNS, SQS.
  • Experience with security and account protection mechanisms.

Qualifications

  • Relevant educational background or practical experience in software engineering.
  • Experience with web development frameworks and backend systems.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
