About the Role

Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. The role involves working on open source projects such as the Linux kernel and Android operating system, contributing to Android's updatability, security, and quality, and collaborating with various Android teams worldwide. The position focuses on systems software, including areas like memory, IPC, low-level performance, and foundational Android components, with a mission to bring computing to everyone and enable access to information, economic opportunity, and connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, improve and roll out Android Systems for billions of users, applications and developers.
Work on core system components including memory, IPC and virtualization.
Scale development across a growing number of verticals (Wear, Auto, TV, large screen, etc).
Create and maintain a reliable, secure and robust foundation for the Android software ecosystem.
Work with our Android partners that ship Android devices.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in C++.
2 years of experience with android system software development.
Experience working on Linux operating system.

Nice to Have

Experience developing and designing large software systems.
Experience with System Software in areas such as ARM/ARM64 architecture, compilers, firmware, Operating systems, Linux kernel, filesystems/storage, device drivers, performance tuning, networking, tools, tests, virtualization, platform libraries.

Qualifications

Formal educational background includes a Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Benefits & Perks

US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
Individual pay is influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
Compensation details reflect the base salary only; bonus, equity, and benefits are additional.
