The Software Engineer works with a team of other software engineers, network and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer's requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The role involves participating in architecture and design of software components leveraging virtualization, microservices, SDN, NFV, and Big Data technologies, with responsibilities ranging from routine to greenfield projects, following established procedures with occasional deviations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supports engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations; supervising associate engineers on occasion.
- Understand system protocols, system operations, and data flows; independently develop a full software stack; study current technology and understand building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required for software and automation work.
- Collaborate with technical teams and utilize system expertise to deliver technical solutions.
- Continuously learn new technologies.
- Write basic documentation on how technology works; contribute clear documentation for new code and systems.
- Document systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for engineering consumption.
- Contribute to emerging technologies to support business goals.
- Review current company processes to identify areas for process refinement.
- Present new ideas to improve existing systems, processes, or services utilizing new frameworks.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 2-4 years of technical engineering experience.
- Experience writing SQL queries.
- Ability to design, develop, and implement ETL processes.
- Ability to write and review Java code.
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and GitLab.
- Strong communication, customer service, analytics, and technical writing skills.
- At least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Kubernetes.
- Experience working in a cloud environment (Azure, AWS).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- 2-4 years of technical engineering experience.
