About the Role

The Software Engineer at 7-Eleven, Inc. is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software systems for the R&D internal development platform. The role involves working on core software infrastructure used by teams within R&D to develop both proof-of-concept projects and production-grade applications, ensuring scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions in line with industry and company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain software systems for the R&D internal development platform.
Maintain core software infrastructure used by R&D teams to develop POC projects and production applications.
Work through all phases of software development including architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment.
Collaborate with application software architects to design scalable and maintainable software systems.
Write efficient, clean, and maintainable code for backend and frontend systems.
Implement new features, refactor existing code, and fix bugs.
Work closely with software engineers, UX/UI designers, product managers, and other team members to ensure a smooth development process and consistent user experience.
Develop and execute test plans, including unit, integration, and manual testing, to ensure software functionality, reliability, and performance.
Debug and fix issues identified during testing.
Communicate with stakeholders to understand requirements for new features or improvements.
Develop functional prototypes or proof-of-concept implementations to validate ideas and gather feedback.
Develop web applications using ReactJS, Node, Docker, Gitlab CI, TypeScript, and cloud infrastructure including AWS and Azure.
Work with REST APIs, mobile app development for Android and iOS using NativeScript or React Native, and testing frameworks like Jest, Junit, JMeter, and Mocha.

Requirements

Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in software development or related roles.
Experience in full stack software development, including all phases of software development.
3 years of experience with Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, NodeJS, and building REST APIs.
Experience with mobile application development for Android and iOS using NativeScript or React Native.
1 year of experience with end-to-end testing frameworks such as Jest, Junit, JMeter, and Mocha.
