Job Description

About the Role

As a member of the Game Platform Engineering team at IGT, you will be responsible for delivering new features that enable world-class games on the IGT Ascent platform. The software you work on manages casino and lottery gaming machines, handling metering, configuration, and system interfaces using industry-standard protocols. The role offers opportunities to develop new features and modernize existing components, requiring self-motivation, a willingness to learn new technologies, and strong communication skills to collaborate across departments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, code, unit test and debug software
Write or participate in code documentation
Support or conduct technical analyses to design and implement machine software, software applications or software tools that achieve the desired functionality
Participate in software peer code reviews
Work with engineering managers/technical leads and other team members on product designs

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent degree program
5+ years of experience in C++ and/or C# and .NET software development
Proficiency in Unity game development
Knowledge of XML Schema and Interface Description Language (IDL)
Time management skills
Proficiency in software engineering design processes
Knowledge of version control management systems (Perforce and/or Git)
Knowledge of Continuous Integration (CI)
Communication skills
Problem-solving skills
Proficient in English

Nice to Have

Experience in modern C++ techniques (C++17)
Experience in C# 5
Experience in .NET 4.8

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent
