About the Role

Tesla's continued success depends on Engineers being able to develop, debug, and deploy software quickly. Our web services, tools, and build infrastructure directly impact over 1000 vehicle, energy, and Autopilot Software Engineers. You'll be joining a small team located at the center of the firmware organization called Engineering Productivity, Build and Internal Infrastructure. This position involves working on developer experience, build frameworks, and ensuring high availability of tools, services, and computational clusters. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to real Tesla vehicles and impact real-world customers by enhancing the speed and reliability of Over-the-Air updates, supporting Tesla's mission to accelerate the world's transition to sustainable energy.

Key Responsibilities

Work on building a distributed compute system, running code on hundreds of bare metal & cloud servers.
Make code more efficient to run, optimizing resources across the cluster, and speeding up the compute workloads we face.

Requirements

5+ years of professional software development experience.
Excellent knowledge of any modern programming language (Golang, C++, Python, Rust, Ruby, etc.).
Strong Linux knowledge.
Experience with distributed compute systems (k8s, Slurm, LSF, etc.) or distributed architectures.
Knowledge of messaging services (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Redis, etc.).

Total compensation may include other elements depending on the position.

Expected Compensation: $120,000 - $252,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits.
