Job Description

About the Role

As a Software Engineer for Airborne Systems at General Dynamics Mission Systems, you'll be a member of a cross functional team responsible for airborne computers that process and display mission data in the cockpit, crypto products for identifying friendly aircraft, and weapon control systems that enable the launch and control of precision guided weapons. The role involves working to ensure the world's most advanced aircraft maintain air superiority and information dominance, with opportunities for continuous learning and development in a research-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a member of a cross functional team responsible for airborne computers that process and display mission data in the cockpit.
  • Work on crypto products for identifying friendly aircraft.
  • Contribute to weapon control systems that enable the launch and control of precision guided weapons.
  • Ensure the aircraft maintain air superiority and information dominance.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field.
  • Agile experience preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance at the time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of work performed within the facilities.
  • Clear understanding of software engineering concepts, principles, theories, software development process, and agile methodology.
  • Programming experience in C, C++, Python, and Rust (preferred).
  • Knowledge and understanding of Linux (preferred).
  • Ability to grasp and apply new information quickly and handle increasing responsibilities with growing complexity.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.

Nice to Have

  • Embedded Software experience.
  • Automated testing experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or related field.
