Job Description

About the Role

Auria is looking to hire a Software Engineer to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This role is onsite in Huntsville, AL. The C2BMC program integrates the Missile Defense System and enables strategic planning, operational management, and synchronization of sensors and weapons systems to support missile defense operations. The Software Engineer will be responsible for software development in Java for regional applications, providing expertise across multiple systems and disciplines, with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth analysis and technical support of systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
  • Maintain currency, debug, and configure related software products
  • Work from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
  • Assist with design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
  • Interface with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve overall efficiency
  • Design, code, test, and implement tools for operations automation
  • Work on most phases of software systems programming applications and may require minor instruction and guidance in other phases

Requirements

  • Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance
  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline, or a Master's degree with 3 years of experience, or a PhD with 1 year of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA Security)
  • Software engineering and development experience with strong Java/J2EE or other object-oriented programming skills
  • Experience and knowledge of software development practices including coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration management
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment
  • Problem-solving skills including analyzing performance and operational issues, identifying root causes, and designing solutions
  • Experience with software development and management tools such as Maven, git/GitHub, Nexus, Eclipse
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies
  • Understanding of standard system engineering design artifacts like Use Cases and SysML diagrams
  • Proficiency in MS Office products

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience in developing enterprise applications on Linux (Windows experience also preferred)
  • Development of command and control system applications
  • Experience in Software Integration and Formal Testing
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing Cyber Security/RMF requirements
  • Ability to explain advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leaders
  • Experience in performance modeling
  • Experience with microservices
  • Experience with DevSecOps and/or build management
  • Willingness to accept unexpected tasks
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a highly dynamic environment
