About the Role
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google's needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward. Google Photos is a photo sharing and storage service developed by Google, focusing on user-centered experiences across client-side and server-side components, as well as machine intelligence including learning and computer vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the integration of state-of-the-art models into user-facing features with strong ownership.
- Translate ideas into functional demos, enabling swift iteration and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Partner closely with product, analytics, and privacy teams to refine requirements, define success metrics, and ensure responsible and impactful feature launches.
- Onboard and scale cutting-edge LLMs to our production infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration with user-facing features.
- Build adaptable and resilient code that can evolve alongside advancements in technology. Maintain the highest standards to guarantee a flawless experience for billions of users.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience with software development in Python or Java, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
- Experience in Machine Learning or Artificial Intelligence.
Nice to Have
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Experience with Large Language Models
Qualifications
- Educational background in Computer Science or related field (implied by degree requirements).
Benefits & Perks
- US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 plus bonus, equity, and benefits.
- Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with individual pay influenced by work location, skills, experience, and education.
- Compensation details listed reflect the base salary only; bonus, equity, and benefits are additional.
