About the Role

We are hiring a Software Engineer I to join the Developer Experience team in Boston, MA. At Chewy, it is our mission to be the most trusted and convenient destination for pet parents (and partners) everywhere. The Infrastructure Engineering organization develops services and tools to enable, support, and optimize software development processes and practices for Chewy engineers. In this role, you will develop new customer-facing features, enhance existing systems with automation, and improve observability of business applications that power the e-commerce platform and beyond. Further, you will have the opportunity to collaborate across the engineering organization to deliver self-service solutions which empower internal customers to move rapidly while building on Chewy's enterprise platforms!

Key Responsibilities

Apply algorithms, data structures, and design patterns to build scalable and performant code
Partner with collaborators and technology teams on how to best implement desired customer features and improvements
Collaborate with team members to drive solutions to standardize methodologies, workflows, reusable modules, and tooling
Help build standard processes for logging, testing, instrumentation, metrics, monitors, alerts, practices, and processes
Participate in design and code reviews
Participate in on-call rotations

Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience
1+ years of professional experience in Software Engineering in React, Typescript, NodeJS
Experience with CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or similar tool
Must be team oriented and have a customer first mentality
