About the Role

Charles River Development (CRD) is the FinTech division of State Street, providing cloud-based Front Office technology as part of the State Street Alpha Platform. The company is experiencing significant growth and is focused on digital innovation, moving towards next-generation cloud-based solutions utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Kafka, and Snowflake. CRD is actively partnering with universities to develop new talent and is seeking recent graduates for various engineering roles within an agile organization that contributes to the development of the CRD/Alpha Platform.

Key Responsibilities

Under guidance of senior engineers contribute to analysis, design, development, testing, and debugging large and complex software enhancements and solutions within the CRD/Alpha Platform domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation
Collaborate with Business Analysts to create simple and sustainable software solutions for complex problems
Participate in the agile software development process including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
Participate in on-the-job and formal trainings to develop your career

Requirements

B.S. or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other technical course of study
0 - 2 years of professional experience or equivalent college project experience
Interest and passion about building high quality software in FinTech space
Initial experience with Java, PowerShell, batch scripts, and knowledge of C# (ideally)
Familiarity with concepts such as DevOps, continuous delivery, clean code, TDD, and agile methods
Experience with tools like Jira and Confluence
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment

Nice to Have

Experience with React, Angular, Redux, RxJs, NodeJS ecosystem, NPM, Yarn, JavaScript, ReactJS, and Typescript
Practical experience with object-oriented programming (JAVA and/or C#), compiler or interpreter technologies, embedded systems, operating systems, relational databases (RDBMS), scripting, and advanced programming languages
Knowledge of Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud native services on Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and using Java and Spring
Experience with Snowflake and SQL Server
Knowledge of test frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, and Jasmine
Business acumen in Portfolio Management, Trading, Compliance, Post-Trade, IBOR, or Wealth Management

Qualifications

Educational background in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, or related technical field
0-2 years of experience or equivalent college project experience

Benefits & Perks

Salary range of $70,000 - $115,000 annually
