We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Threat Intelligence team in Tacoma, WA, reporting to the manager of Software Engineering for Threat Intelligence. In this role, you will design and implement software solutions in Python for both local and cloud-based infrastructure, involving large-scale data engineering and analytics using technologies like Spark and Delta Lake. You will collaborate closely with analysts and researchers to gather requirements and build tools to research, analyze, and catalog cybersecurity threats, contributing to our security products and helping protect customers worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement applications enabling threat research and investigation
  • Convert high-level concepts into actionable user stories
  • Automate and simplify manual processes for analysts
  • Write clean, testable code
  • Create test plans and test cases and run tests with automated tools
  • Investigate, debug, and fix issues in development and production environments
  • Develop technical documentation

Requirements

  • 5+ years of post-graduate experience with an object-oriented language, Python preferred
  • Experience with Git
  • Strong emphasis on code quality and unit testing
  • Knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of containers and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with RESTful architecture
  • Good verbal and written communication skills enabling leadership in meetings, requirement gathering, and documentation
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science

Nice to Have

  • Experience with large-scale data engineering and analytics tools like Spark and Delta Lake
  • Experience developing security or threat intelligence applications
