Software Engineer II

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and debugs moderately complex software programs for enhancements and new products under limited supervision.
• Responsible for concept design through the full development life cycle.
• Prepares and conducts systems programming tests requiring interfacing and software tests.

Requirements

• Full stack experience in developing microservices for portals and APIs using Spring Boot and Java, and integrating UI with JSON APIs and other distributed systems.
• Proficiency in object-oriented design and development using Java/Spring Boot and TypeScript/Angular.
• Experience in developing and supporting cloud-native applications on Azure and/or AWS platforms.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, including supporting data pipelines for application workflows.
• Ability to build, consume, and manage APIs (REST/JSON, SOAP) and contribute to designing performant front-end interfaces at scale.
• Strong working knowledge of Git, Azure DevOps (ADO), CI/CD pipelines, and release automation.
• Self-driven, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, including collaborating on user stories and acceptance criteria.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with NoSQL databases such as Cosmos DB.
• Exposure to tools and services like AKS, Redis Cache, App Configuration, Maven, and Azure API Management (APIM), preferably in production or staging environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, or information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience.
• Two (2) years qualifying work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
