The Commercial Fire team focuses on developing innovative fire safety and protection solutions for commercial buildings. For more information: https://buildings.honeywell.com/us/en/solutions/fire As a Software Engineer on our dynamic Fire Software Team, within Honeywell Business Automation (BA) organization, you will have the opportunity to work on sophisticated projects that enhance our SaaS Platforms and drive customer connectivity and management. You will play a crucial role in the design, development, testing, and automation of cutting-edge software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robust software solutions with a strong emphasis on SaaS platforms, optimizing for scalability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into well-defined technical requirements.
  • Manage applications at scale, ensuring high availability and performance in line with industry best practices.
  • Develop, test, and maintain APIs to facilitate seamless integration with other systems and services.
  • Utilize Microsoft Azure services to deploy and manage applications, ensuring optimal use of cloud technologies for enhanced performance and reliability.
  • Create advanced reporting solutions, leveraging experience with reporting tools and frameworks to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Work with front-end technologies such as Angular, and back-end technologies like .NET and SQL Server, delivering full-stack development capabilities.
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and mentor junior team members in software development methodologies and technologies.
  • Collaborate on grooming and refining software solutions to improve user experience and overall functionality.
  • Engage with customers to understand their needs and ensure solutions align with their expectations and requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in software development, specifically within SaaS platform environments.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft Azure services and cloud computing.
  • Strong experience in full-stack development, specifically with .NET, Angular, and SQL Server.
  • In-depth knowledge of API design and development, with practical experience managing API lifecycles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage applications at scale and ensure robust customer connectivity and management.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience in the Fire Safety or related domain is a plus.
  • Familiarity with advanced reporting solutions and data visualization techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on customer engagement and solution grooming.
