About the Role

Chewy is looking for a Software Engineer II to join our User Experience Engineering team based in Boston, MA! The ideal candidate has experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries, HTML, CSS, and Java. This team's goal is to build components and tools that impact the user and developer experience across Chewy. This enables a frictionless customer experience as we build, learn, and iterate on our core and new capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Design and build new features and capabilities on our customer facing Storefront
Write scalable, performant, readable and tested frontend code
Participate in technical decisions and collaborate with peers
Review code, implementations and give relevant feedback that helps others build better solutions
Write documentation
Provide mentorship and guidance for peers and more junior engineers
Establish strong working relationships at all organizational levels and across functional teams
Refine our JavaScript frameworks, processes and standards
Take responsibility and ownership of project timelines

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Software Development as a Front-End Engineer
Fluency in JavaScript, CSS, HTML, and other client facing technologies
Experience with a modern JavaScript framework such as Vue, React, and/or Vue
Experience with Java
Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience
Position may require travel
