Software Engineer II (Internal Apps)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing support with the architect, design, and developing scalable and performant full-stack application, enhancing the development of both front-end and back-end components.
• Java and Spring Boot Development
• Maintain microservices and APIs using Spring Boot
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code while adhering to best practices
• Resolve inefficiencies within cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Utilize GCP services like Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, and Pub/Sub for scalable solutions
• Support the deployment and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes
• Monitor and troubleshoot Kubernetes clusters to ensure reliability and scalability
• Develop and debug database structures, including stored procedures, views, functions, and query optimization for PostgreSQL, Snowflake, and Oracle
• Build and maintain batch jobs for data processing and system integrations
• Work on integrating third-party APIs and services into existing systems
• Build responsive and user-friendly web interfaces using React.js or Next.js
• Assist in maintaining and improving CI/CD pipelines for deployment automation
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline delivery processes
• Work closely with product managers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions
• Provide technical guidance in best practices, code quality, and system design
• Conduct peer code reviews, establish coding standards, and ensure best practices for software development
• Focus on performance optimization, including database queries and scaling issues
• Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning and retrospectives

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
• 5 years of experience in Java development, with exposure to cloud and web development
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud and Kubernetes
• Basic proficiency in PostgreSQL (queries, stored procedures)
• Experience with React.js or Next.js for front-end development
• Understanding of batch processing concepts
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows
• Experience with workflow automation tools (e.g., UC4, Airflow)
